The England manager Criticizes Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Emphatic Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his regret that the England team did not enjoy greater support from the home fans during their commanding friendly win against Wales on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was happy to see his team showcase their winning momentum, with strikes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the first 20 minutes deciding the match. Yet, he was unhappy with the atmosphere at the iconic venue.

“We had limited training days to get ready against a drilled team and we did very well,” Tuchel remarked. “It could have been five goals ahead at the break. We missed the additional goals. There was little noise. There was no support back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you provide in 20 minutes? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the team deserved more support today.”

“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a derby. I hoped for a greater support in phases where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to support us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to recharge, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Display

Away from risking a dispute among fans, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by omitting Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. Yet the decision was validated by Morgan Rogers excelling in the attacking midfield role and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel noted. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his position.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Defeat

The Wales manager expressed hope that his team, who face Belgium in a key qualifying match on Monday, learn from their awful first-half display.

“This is why I scheduled this match,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess our current level. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? Today fills me with motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was substituted at half-time after colliding with a post and may miss out when the national team face Latvia in the Latvian capital in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
